Power hitting technology – England Cricket

To compete effectively England needed to weaponise power hitting as a distinct advantage.  The difficulty was getting objective, real-time feedback in indoor or net-based sessions, where ball flight tracking was limited.

The project set out to solve this – delivering real-time feedback that could be used to refine technique and optimise power hitting performance ahead of the World Cup.

By adapting ball-tracking tech for indoor use, and integrating with smart bat sensors and a live reporting interface, this athlete-first system delivered live insights on shot power, ball flight, and striking mechanics.

This gave England’s batters and coaches immediate, actionable insights to refine their technique and optimise performance against different deliveries during the session.

This project enabled evidence-led adjustments to technique, bat swing, and shot selection, creating a shift in training quality and supporting England’s drive towards a World Cup victory.

Beyond performance, we showcased how athlete-first, data-driven solutions can transform player development and coaching practice — a template that can be applied across sport.
