Patented performance apparel – Exosuit
Exosuit was founded to reimagine how people think of functional sports apparel – taking development of novel garment technology for support and muscular awareness from concept to patent and commercialisation. Chris led projects on garment functionality, design, prototyping, and manufacture, as well as collaborating with athletes and research partners on garment development, testing, and validation. The resulting garments were worn by >30 elite athletes, supporting performance across 8 different sports, before the IP was sold in founding Over+Above.
Exosuit was born out of a frustration with sports injury and kinesiology tape. Athletes so often need support to perform at their best, but big brand garments offer little functionality beyond simply covering the skin.
Our mission was to redefine the way people think of sportswear, offering garments that interact with the body to support, stabilise, and power athletic performance.
Exosuit apparel combined active compression with patented flexible support designed to mimic kinesiolgy tape, offering muscle & joint stability, postural support, and muscular awareness through it’s patented PowerFlex Technology.
Initial proof of concept was completed through the EXO1 top, before launching arm sleeves for bowling and throwing, as well as an Exosuit Bespoke offering to elite athletes across the world.

Athletes from 8 different sports chose Exosuit apparel to support their performance, with garments worn in international rugby and cricket, Championship football, the IPL, Olympic trials, and the NFL.
Exosuit went on to complete a number of bespoke apparel projects, as well as selling tops and sleeves to the D2C and retail markets. Ultimately the IP produced was sold as part of investment into a new business called Over+Above.
